When Amshaamsha Foundation (AAF), an innovative non-profit organisation, started in Tanzania had a mission to restore our climate for the current and future generations.
This mission together with our vision of empowering and nurturing our planet through a sustainable future is what defines and guides us in ensuring we live in a safe and sustainable world.
Three years since its establishment, Amshaamsha has been a dynamic organization in saving the planet, thanks to the strong leadership of our visionary Executive Director, Tedy Mcha.
Our mission goes beyond merely surviving and enduring climate change. We are creating the ecosystem needed for climate Restoration, Mitigation, and Adaptation to bring about transformation towards sustainability and equity within societies with innovative and environmentally friendly approaches to mitigate climate change.
Collaborative Partnerships for Collective Impact in Tanzania’s Local Communities
We work with young men and women, local and global partners, scientists, innovators, policymakers, citizens, faith leaders, and students of all ages and backgrounds to achieve our mission and vision.
These stakeholders together support us in achieving our goals to make the world a better place.
To maximise the impact of collaborations, currently, we are building on our network a wealth of experience to create a healthy climate by advancing innovative solutions, such as renewable energy technologies, and clean cooking, to enhance education, health, livelihoods and other productive or economic activities within our societies.
“I enthusiastically introduce to you an organization driven by individuals aiming to create a positive impact on our beloved planet. In 2020, we embarked on a mission to broaden our scope, setting ambitious targets to enhance our environment through innovative approaches, partnership and active engagement with communities,” Mcha said.
Recognizing that traditional approaches are no longer sufficient, at AAF we boldly embrace innovation as a catalyst for change by fostering partnerships with like-minded organizations and harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology.
Our vision is to be a leading non-governmental organization committed to addressing issues towards a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with their environment.
Empowering Communities through Strategic Goals
As we face a collective turning point in our climate, resources and communities, our strategic plan outlines how we will put our ingenuity forward to create an enduring legacy.
“The first step in our journey, our 2022-2027 Strategic Action Plan, will help chart our route and achieve significant progress on our way to being the reliable partner in the sector,” Teddy said.
She said there are four strategic goals the organization is set to achieve by 2027, which are highly likely to be achieved through partnerships with other stakeholders both individuals and organizations.
Renewable Energy and Ecosystem Builders
In this goal, we aim at building an ecosystem that promotes access to clean energy through the Distributed Renewable Energy Ecosystem Project (DREEM) Model.
Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
In this goal, we want to play our part in climate change mitigation and adaptation as we are Innovatively adjusting to the existing effects while making the impact of climate change less severe by preventing or reducing GreenHouse Gas (GHG) production.
Clean Cooking Promotion
In the next four years, we will put our efforts into promoting clean, efficient cooking technologies and fuels as a cross-cutting solution that can achieve better health and environment for community development.
Gender and Youth Mainstreaming
Lastly, we will be improving policies, programs and projects, to ensure the efficient allocation of resources to increase the well-being of women, men and youths to create a socially just and sustainable society.
