World Cleanup Day is an annual global event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of a clean environment and inspiring individuals and organizations to take action.
World Cleanup Day is celebrated annually on the 16th of September each year.
This day serves as a global call to action to address environmental issues, promote clean communities, and raise awareness about the importance of a cleaner planet.
Amshaamsha Foundation’s participation on this specific date highlights its commitment to this significant global event and ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the environment.
Climate change is a major crisis that the current generation is facing, and this crisis can only be resolved when we take collective action and efforts to address it.
Its impacts are far-reaching and affect not only the environment but also human societies, economies, and ecosystems.
Today, on World Cleanup Day, various stakeholders such as Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania (ECCT), MMI, and Kidimbwi authority have gathered to show our unity in cleaning Kidimbwi beach as one of the ways to conserve marine life and reduce waste in water sources.
The beach cleanup event at Kidimbwi Beach was not only about removing waste but also offered an educational experience. Participants gained knowledge about different waste categories, including non-biodegradable items such as plastic waste.
Additionally, they learned about the advantages of preserving the ocean and its marine ecosystem, which include the removal of harmful substances from the water, safeguarding marine creatures, and fostering a sense of community involvement in environmental conservation.
Amshaamsha Foundation has numerous objectives focused on providing solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Amshaamsha Foundation is committed to addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change. To achieve this, the foundation has set a series of well-defined objectives that encompass a wide range of activities and initiatives.
These objectives are strategically designed to reduce the severity of climate change impacts and promote a more sustainable and resilient future.
One of these objectives is advocating for the adoption of renewable and green energy sources. Promotion of clean energy solutions like the use of solar energy, which reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
We also inspire young people and women to innovate solutions aimed at reducing the impacts of climate change, as well as disseminate and provide education, especially in the use of renewable energy.
We are grateful to all our supporters who have joined hands with us to make these efforts successful, especially the C.S. Mott Foundation, which has been a steadfast ally for a long time, holding our hand and assisting us in reaching a wider audience with this education, particularly in rural areas, focusing on young people and women.
